We propose a 3D printed flow restrictor which can be integrated into a 22 mm conical connection (anaesthetic/respiratory equipment). This is NOT a medically approved device and is not intended for medical use.
To get it tight, an O-Ring ID 35mm x D 3 mm or similar is needed. You can also take a larger O-ring and cut it in an angle – pressure by the wall will seal it as well.
PRINTING/ASSEMBLY
The tolerances of the pieces must match each other and these are different for most 3D printers. If it doesn’t fit, scale it in Cura in X,Y-direction only, in small increments and write down your adjustments for further printing.
So for the first print start with the base to make sure it connects well to the standard 22 mm connectors. Then print the cover and make sure the thread matches the base. Add the O-Ring, press the two parts together and screw the base into the cap.
MATERIAL:
We used PLA with a 0.4 mm nozzle for all parts.
