face shield

large_preview_Screenshot_2020-04-03-19-2

Hello.

This is a single face sheild,,, minus A4 Sheet of clear plastic and some elastic or string.

i have re drawn below file…….

i downloaded this design from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4241448 so attrabution to them, re drawing from scratch.

More details of such masks.

Or Filabot has a blog on there website which has such a visor and a ventertator splitter so check that out.

. so check net you may be able to make or something.

A google search has a lot of 3d printed covid mask related stuff of course.

Print notes. As is where is. use at own risk.

i have filled in the small holes along the forehead area to better suit common type printers because i find

it weakens prints usually, also print does not flow well and slows print, less risk of edges scratching forhead,, etc.

“ended up a bit of a re draw .”

I am printing this on my Makerbot Replicator, a great machine.

Used factor “high speed settings”

3 shells no infill.

“else set how you like,,often I usually use,example 20% infill 3 shells.”

200mm by 150mm or a smidge less, fits on Makerbot Replicator build plate, a common build plate size, prints one “Face Sheild”.

20mm high aprox.

2mm thick aprox.

HBP 32 ….So I’m now use Magnetic surface with builders tape for today.

extruder 210 PLA.

After print some minor clean up, I scratched off with my fingernail. the plastic a4 sheet in

my case was a cover off a clear file. and some string, I used my soldering iron to poke

the holes in plastic and in less than a minute I had string and visor assembled.

Print took less than two hours I think, I was working on another thing so didn’t get excact time. Seems to work. Perhaps a spot of glue, tape or 3d pen a spot of glue and the plastic visor on.

thoughts…..

If you have a smaller file such as under 10mb then upload it to thingiverse and post link in comments of my thing if you like.

Hopefully with this being a single print that fits on common printer build plate size then that might be helpful.

bye for now and be well,
