Apex Legends Season 4 Introduces a New Legend | CBR –
Last year, Apex Legends came out of nowhere to become the latest gaming sensation, challenging the likes of Fortnite and PUBG. The dust has long since settled, and Apex Legends is still going strong with an invested base of support.
Now, the latest season is launching, bringing with it a new Legend, a new weapon and plenty of fun new gear to unlock and show off. Let’s breakdown what the newest entry in Apex Legends has to offer.

The biggest change for any season in a game like Apex is having a brand new character to play. Season 4 comes with a character who’s aesthetic matches beautifully with the characters already in the game, basically embodying death. Revenant has arrived to turn the game upside down.
The new Legend was revealed in a cool cinematic video that showcased his talents, as well as a bit of his backstory. Revenant is a top assassin for the Mercenary Syndicate, and although in reality is a sleek and scary looking cyborg, he sees himself as a James Bond-esque secret agent working from a ritzy penthouse. The backstories of the various Legends are always interesting, and this latest one gets that extra little spin of him being brainwashed.

Of course, a lot of players only care about what Revenant can do, and how his presence will shift the meta. All Legends get 3 abilities, and Revenant is no different. His tactical ability is a grenade that will silence enemy players, disabling their abilities for a short period as well as doing damage. In a game where abilities are so game-changing, being able to take them away during a fight is huge. His passive allows him to climb higher than any other Legend, and to move much more quickly while crouched. The higher climbing is nice for re-positioning, but other Legends do that better — the faster crouch walking can be clutch in certain situations and fits nicely with his assassin theme. Revenant’s ultimate ability is “Death Totem” which will protect him and his teammates from death for a certain amount of time. This move will encourage teams to make extremely aggressive pushes without fear of repercussions and will be a direct counter to slower and more methodical play-styles.
There is more to Season 4 than just a new character, as the assimilation trailer shows off. It showcases the changes to the main map and something called “planet harvesters.” These giant machines have created new zones and damaged already existing zones, basically creating new areas to fight and defend. These areas seem to favor certain categories of Legends, and players can quickly find these areas and exploit them.

Additionally, a new weapon will be available, not just a supply drop weapon either — a brand new sniper rifle. It will be bolt-action and powerful, but it will take a while before players can tell if the weapon needs tuning. Most of the time, when something new is added, it tends to be overpowered at first, so players should expect a lot of fighting for this new addition.
Lastly, a brand new Battle Pass will be available for players to pick up and grind through. These were popularized by Fortnite and have been picked up by various shooting games like Call of Duty and Apex. This pass will have the usual stuff in it, new skins, emotes and various cosmetics to show off on the battlefield. The theme for the skins this season seem to be robotic in nature, probably to match Revenant.
Apex Legends Season 4 launched February 4th, 2020.
