After getting angry about the fact that I have to unscrew flash hider from my AR in order to test silencer found in depths of the Internet and realising that there are no supressors that can be mounted on standard A2 flash hider I decided to make my own.
I suceeded and here are the results:
-Main body is made from 1″ PVC tube, so it’s not only stronger, but also cheaper than 3d printed part. All parts are held by pins made from m3 threaded rod, and following AR design style everything interlocks.
-It’s fully modular – you can easily make it as long as you want, switch between different baffles (more coming in future), or add a bit overgrown expansion chamber.
-Speaking of which, after printing fat version and adding 50 mm sewage pipe (try to use new one, I had nothing else on hand, sorry :P) and cutting some holes in inner tube you can add whole lot of new space, where gases will be redirected after shot which substantially increases noise reduction.
-All parts are interchangeable, so if anything breaks you just print one piece instead of whole suppressor.
-Tested on .22lr, for .223 I was not brave enough, but it should suppress at least one shot
So far after 100 shots including some mag dumping there’s no visible signs of damage or wear, nothing is melted (printed from PTEG)
More baffles and mounting options are coming soon. Feel free to design and post parts yourself
I am not responsible for any damage you do to yourself and others. Note that in many places in the world silencers are illegal, so check your local laws if you don’t want to go to jail
