I have been working on printing my 3D Catan board using catan-style boardgame 2.0 (magnetic & multicolor) pioneered by Dakanzala. I have seen some Game of Thrones Castles around on Thingiverse but for the first time I have gathered them all together in one basket. Some of these are direct copies of hexagonal inlays ready for using with his magnet system, others I had to format on Tinkercad and combine with other objects. Several options are listed including files with holes for Catan numbers and files of just the castles on the hex’s. I tried my best to list all the sources, but if I missed anything don’t sue me, just let me know.
I’m excited to print and paint these so picture updates will be forthcoming. I was thinking of using these castles as a substitution for the hex tile with the lowest probability of the following resources. Furthermore, I may make a house rule (scary I know) where if you build on a castle tile you collect your resource as normal but you must choose someone else to collect the same resource or you have to discard/pay a tax of one of any resource in your hand.
Mine – Brick – Red Keep
Pasture – Sheep (Wool) – The Twins
Forest – Wood (Lumber) – Winterfell
Field – Hay (Wheat/Grain for you nerds) – Qarth
Mountains – Rock (Ore) – Casterly Rock
Desert – None – Mereen
Water – None – Dragonstone
I really wish there was a Highgarden model for grain or sheep so if one of you talented blokes could whip that up I would add it to the collection (I’m more of a mash it together kind of guy). Still working on the Eyrie and Dragonstone and I thought Castle Black would look kinda goofy with the wall and everything so I didn’t render a hex tile yet but it is listed here nonetheless. If there are any other good Game of Thrones Castle stl’s out there I missed please dm me!
