Proton pack – movie accurate prop form ghostbusters

Here is my take at an easy almost fully 3D printable and accurate proton pack shell with all the external parts (legris, knob, etc…). All you’ll need is lots of 20MM M3 screws and glue for the shell, but you still need the stickers, switches, tunings, lenses and alice frame. those aren’t printable.

A template for the motherboard is included too. it’s easier to find a fablab or hackerspace near you to laser cut it. Spacer for the motherboard to the alice are also provided but you can make your own.

Assembly is easy, just look at reference pictures. The legris, clippards elbow and fittings are made of multiple parts that are meant to be glued together with a M3 screw inside and a second one can be added to the tip to make the hose fitting sturdier (I’ll add pictures of assembly later). You will also find M3’s head size hole on the gun dissipator. Just put 4 small M3 in it as a mounting peg to glue it in place.

You won’t need a lot a support, a lot of parts are made with sacrificial layers for the screws hole. Use your 3d printing 6th sense.

For the gun, you need to put a 20MM OD pvc tubing inside the handle or it will brake easily and same thing for the clear tube for the gun, you can get 20 MM OD cheap Acrylic tubing on website like aliexpress.

I think it’s the cheapest way to build your own pack, no need for expensive resin cast of obscure parts everything is included. I build my pack for less than 400 euros all included without light and sound. The alice frame was the most expensive non printed part.

Last trick, for the red lenses. I’ve made the shell to get 50MM diameter lenses. Lenses that you can find on Sunglasses for cheap on AliExpress. And for the led cap, simply cut 10mm signal light Indicator also from website.

So, if you need help for assembly, printing or to find some parts feel free to send me a message on facebook, or Instagram (@dr_kiou). I’m also active on the proton pack building group on fb. ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/740418329465531/ )

This took weeks and weeks to do but the model is still free. If you like my work, you can also make donation to https://paypal.me/quentinmachiels through paypal and thanks for your support!

Credits : 3 parts, the resistors and crank knob are remodeled of existing parts thanks to their respective authors.
