Plugsurfing and misleading entries on the map – April 8, 2023 at 05:31PM

I’m a recent EV owner, relying on public charging for the time being. So far I generally managed to charge my car at a few locations, but it was surprisingly hard.

I had a strange experience recently: I selected a location in Plugsurfing, drove there, and didn’t see any chargers there. The charger was marked as operated by Everon, so I called Everon support, and learned that:

  1. ✅ They recognize that the address of the charger is incorrect.
  2. ❌ They don’t know where the charger is physically located.
  3. ❌ They don’t have a way of discovering where the charger is located.
  4. ❌ They don’t have a way of contacting the owner to ask them to correct the address.
  5. ❌ They don’t have a way of removing the misleading entry from the map.

I visited 4 other unusable places in my area. Mostly they were chargers inaccessible to the public: on a golf course behind a closed gate, in a paid parking lot (min €15 to enter), in a taxi-only parking lot (a mix of chargers marked taxi-only and public). One charger just stopped working one day, showing up as a grey question mark on the map. I sent a report via the app, and never got a response.

Overall it looks like there are quality issues with the map, and I’m wondering if there’s a way to send feedback and have Plugsurfing update the map. Has anyone had a success reporting an issue and having the map corrected?
