What was the tiger-like creature that attacked Ahsoka and her mother in Tales of the Jedi? Assuming the planet the story takes place on is Shili, which is currently considered to be Ahsoka’s homeworld, I think that animal is an Akul. The Legends reference book The New Essential Guide to Alien Species describes it as a large quadrupedal, carnivorous predator with orange fur native to the grasslands of Shili. They were the only creatures that Togrutas feared. Their teeth became prized hunting trophies, and were used to craft necklaces or headdresses worn by those who defeated one single-handedly. Jedi Master Shaak-Ti’s headdress contained Akul teeth. None of this information is strictly canon, and I would say the creature’s fur in the short is more yellow than orange, I don’t think it’s a stretch to assume they would keep the apex predator of Shili consistent.
