Who were the Rakatan invaders mentioned by Luthen Rael in the fourth episode of Andor? That’s a really fun easter egg for fans of the Knights of the Old Republic games. In Star Wars Legends the Rakata were a conquering alien society that formed the Infinite Empire over thirty thousand years before the Battle of Yavin. In general, they were bad news. They were cannibals, and they were Force-sensitives who exclusively used the dark side. They enslaved hundreds of planets across the galaxy using a massive space station and weapons factory they called the Star Forge. After about ten thousand years in power, the Rakatans were hit by a plague, and in their weakened state, the worlds they controlled rose up against them. Nearly extinct, the survivors returned to their homeworld, Lehon.
