Why the Inquisitor Naming System Makes NO SENSE by Star Wars Explained

Why the Inquisitor Naming System Makes NO SENSE –

I’ve had a lot of people ask me about the Inquisitor naming or ranking system and how it works, because it seemingly makes no sense. In Star Wars Rebels the Fifth Brother chastises the Seventh Sister for ordering him around. So he, at least, seems to think there’s something to the numbers. Trilla Suduri and Reva were almost certainly newer additions to the organization, yet they get to be the Second and Third Sister respectively? Shouldn’t they be lower down in the numbering? I actually agree that the ranking system doesn’t make any sense. But I think the confusion is the point. The Inquisitors are all competitive with one another. Reva and the Fifth Brother both want the Grand Inquisitor’s seat, and he even claims he’s next in line. Based on what? I think he’s just calling dibs. The Sith want their minions to be confused. They want them to be competing selfishly for more power. So giving them all arbitrary numbers and rankings that actually mean nothing seems like a good way to encourage that kind of anger and resentment towards each other.
