Did you know that Star Wars was almost rated G, but the studio, Fox, requested the PG rating instead? They did feel that some scenes and the noises could be scary for young children, but they also feared teenagers would choose not to see the movie, because the G rating was considered uncool. The ratings board members were shocked, because no film had ever asked for a more strict rating before.
