I’ve been 3D printing/modelling for a few years now and usually make my own stuff. It’s mostly a hobby, but every once in a while I’ll make a little money. I shared a bunch of scifi/horror stl’s after people asked for my files on Instagram. It wasn’t wildly successful, but I met my goal and had a real fun time. And it really pushed me to make more models than I usually do. I’d love to do another one some day, but I’d love some advice, because I see some crazy successful Kickstarters/Patreons online.
So, people who have launched very successful Kickstarters/Patreons…how do you do it? How do you get the word out?
And people who have supported or backed projects in the past…how did you hear about it? What made it worth backing?
Obviously making a ton of money isn’t the most important thing in the world. But I had a great time doing the one Kickstarter I did and it was a bit of an ego boost having people interested in my models. So any tips or advice are welcome 🙂
And if you want to see some of my fun print/painting pics, I show them off on my Instagram
