I hate the Apple TV remote. It is symmetrical with no way of knowing which end is which. And it is small, light, and slippery. You can easily get it backwards in the dark. Annoying. I immediately placed a little Velcro dot on mine, under the front end, to orient it without looking.
Ray Mowder of Tableft_Workshop hates his Apple remote, too. He solved the problem by 3D printing a little cradle for it. It has little nubs on the side for orientation and it adds some grip (with grip-tape beneath), and weight.
He will be posting the STL file to his account on Thingiverse soon.
