The honeycomb geometries of this self-watering plant pot play nicely with light, creating different gradients of shadow in a striking juxtaposition to the organic form of the plants that live in them.
We were inspired to create this planter after seeing so many cool DIY self-watering planters on the internet that use twine to wick moisture into the soil. Ours uses the same mechanism.
When your soil is dry or your plant is looking a little sad just top up the reservoir with 150ml of water to keep it happy for many days. [check post processing section in the printing settings to see how to water seal your prints].
When watering there is no need to disassemble the design. There is a feeder tube in one of the corners of the pot. We’ve even created a funnel for you to print to make things even easier.
🙂
As shown in the photos you can either hang the pot or place it on a surface. If you would like to hang it, print the Internal Planter Upper Holes file instead of the Internal Planter Upper. You will also need 3 x 4mm diameter hanging hooks/loops and of course string.
Printed with Satin Sage, Satin Salmon + Pantone Beige PLA [Real Filament + Fiber Force]
To print this design we used an Ultimaker 2+ 3D printer with a 0.6 mm nozzle [You can also use a 0.25mm or 0.4mm].
We would love to see your prints!
