I had previously made this printable pen to use the very cheap sheaffer sections that come as part of their calligraphy kit: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3360686
But I had admired the Open 3d Foutain Pen from Zoidberg38: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2026499
And I recently played around with printing the remixes by Kennethlee to try out the mini body/cap combo: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4349097
But I don’t have a Jomo #6 or a Lamy or Kaweco section/feeder on hand, and don’t really want to pay nearly as much for a nib/feeder/section as I would for a whole kaweco sport in the first place, so I remixed the mini body from kennethlee to accept the cheap sheaffer sections.
This is a work in progress. I am trying to get this to print well enough that it can be an eyedropper pen since this will be too small to accept the sheaffer carts. I have printed this a few times to try to improve water tightness with my Prusa mk3s. The version in the photos seems to work well, though YMMV (and I had intended to try coating this to improve water tightness)!
This was printed with “clear” PETG, at .15mm layers, many perimeters, 5% more extrusion (1.05), and at 245F.
N.B. I filleted the internal threads, but they are still very tight. This is good for an eyedropper, but I did have to use two wrenches and wrap the section and body in cloth (to avoid damaging them), to get a tight enough grip to tighten them. I expect this will become easier with a few tightenings and loosenings (if the pen lasts that long!). The cap is also a little tight screwing on the top or bottom, but this getting looser as I open and close it a few times. The tolerance here may have gotten worse as I converted Kennethlee’s stl back to an editable body in F360!
Also, I like how these look when new with the “clear” PETG, but I did find with my old Sheaffer pen, that the clear cap stained really easily and looked worse over time, so I will probably reprint this in some other color.
