Cartridge for UMAREX HDS 68

cartridge-for-umarex-hds-68

The UMAREX HDS 68 defence rifle uses a Co2 sparclette and can fire 2 .68 calibre rubber bullets (or Paintball) with a power of 16 Joules.

I created this cartridge to replace that rubber bullet with another projectile.

It is made up of 3 elements:

  • the base (to be printed in 3D)

  • the lid (to be printed in 3D) which seals the cartridge after loading the ammunition into the cartridge

  • the case, a simple standard paper tube which is shaped on my calibration mandrel and glued with a simple white glue (the mandrel is also to be printed in 3d)

You can fill this cartridge with 6mm BB balls (a dozen for 3.33 gr), 4.5 mm steel balls, flour, pepper, etc … knowing that the weight of an original rubber ball is 3 gr.

How to proceed

  • 3D printing of caps, lids and sizing mandrel

  • Print a sheet of A4 paper with my file “print etuis_68.pdf”.

  • Cut each of the future cases with a cutter and ruler.

  • Form each of these tubes on the mandrel and fix it with white glue (white glue tube style)

  • Glue each tube on a base with 1 or 2 dots of glue (I use “extra-strong” paper glue). To guide the case and not to damage it, I use the mandrel as a guide.

  • Fill the cartridge with balls

  • Seal with a lid + 1 or 2 dots of glue.

That’s it, a cartridge is made!

WARNING: The use of these cartridges is much more dangerous than the original rubber ball!

If your attacker is injured, you risk criminal prosecution!
