dual-speaker enclosure for centre speaker for surround system

large_preview_Centre_dual-Speaker_for_li

I bought some multi-driver speakers to improve on the ones supplied with my living-room surround system and wanted something appropriate to put them in.

This is what I came up with.

They’re designed for a pair of Sony XS-FB1030 speakers: 30w, 3-way, 10cm/4″

I’ve included the dimensions diagram from the back of the speaker box for reference. But it should fit most 10cm/4″ car speakers.

These work remarkably well as a centre-speaker pair, mounted above my projection screen and angled (by design) at the listening position of my sofa.

The enclosure is actually pretty big, being printed on my TronXY X5S (build volume 33x33x40cm) and has mounting holes in the back to attach it to a suitable wall or surface.

I found some flat, white speaker cable on Amazon to make it easier to blend in with the decor also.

I printed mine at 0.3mm layer height because

a) it’s massive

b) it’s quite far away so you’re not going to be looking at it that closely.

More stuff that I’ve created and write-ups of commissions etc can be found on my blog:

You can also buy there things I’ve made 🙂
