52mm Camera Lens Cap Holder – Custom Name

large_preview_lens_cap_buckle_with_name.

I used the customizer on Kitlaa’s camera lens cap holder (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9860) to generate a lens cap holder for a 52mm lens cap. My main motivation for 3D printing is that it allows customisation for unique purposes, sizes or measures. Since this print is intended as a gift, I thought to customise it to that person (called ‘Wil’). Hence, I altered the design to allow for an area to cut out a name. I also added a few chamfers and rounded edges.

In the files is a .dwg file. Editing this file in, for example, Fusion360, you can create a sketch with text and extrude that from the centre area. I like the Arial ‘Rounded’ font in Fusion360, which takes away the sharp corners. Do think about any letter that has elements inside (e.g. the ‘o’).

Perhaps this is of some use to others!
