Plateaus in map making – April 24, 2023 at 02:21AM

Hello, everyone! I got a mapmaking book and drawing journal as a gift and used it to draw out part of my world map.

But I ran into a problem. The book doesn’t show me how to make plateaus which are important for two reasons.

1) the circles area on the left is where my first book takes place. It’s an underground city below a plateau.

2) the big circled blob is a special border line representing a miles-high natural plateau-like stone wall with a very tall top.

I can’t for the life of me figure how to draw it well even though I have a vision in my head. Do you have any references or suggestions? I really want to finish this map!

Side question: do you have any references for drawing map-sized redwoods or does tree variation not matter to that extent
