Presently, the Republic of China only controls two provinces (Taiwan and Fukien) and six municipalities (Kaohsiung, New Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Taipei, Taoyuan). It still consists in paper of 35 provinces, 12 municipalities, Hainan SAR, Tibet and Outer Mongolia (the DPP/KMT disputes this).
