The World Map and Regional Map for the Successor States of Rega

The Successor States of Rega and the Mare Penitus

Skaria and the Border

What do folks think?

Tellus is a world crafted carefully by the 8 great gods, designed to help defend itself against the chaos outside Creation. But evil entered at the beginning, and not all the ends of the Gods have been achieved. The language and culture base is Latin, Roman, and thus European, but the unique gods make it something else entirely. The world being created, piece by piece, as I go through my Worldbuilding series on YouTube. Above, the map, in progress. A setting that developed with some similarities to Rome, but now its Successor States fight for their freedom against the evil Empire of Vyzantos. Gods, heroes, snake people, monsters born of a titan’s blood… Welcome to the Successor States of Rega. The people of the Successor states generally have skin of medium brown color, with tightly curled hair of various hues, and all possible colors of eyes. Millenia of peaceful , cosmopolitan mixing before the Empire fell resulted in a people of vibrant color. To the north, pale barbarians sometimes threaten.

Hesperia: In many ways like Iberia under Rome, but even more advanced. Their nautical skills are unmatched.

Keltia: A republic ruled by a council of chieftains and elders who only choose a leader when they must. A reflex of Roman Gaul or Charlemagne’s France. In some ways.

Theudonia: A patchwork of feudal fiefdoms ruled by a High King who is elected for life. Some similarities to the Holy Roman Empire.

Skaria: What became of Roman Dacia after the empire fell. Elements of Hungary, Romania, Wallachia, changed by the worship of the Regan gods and ruled by the most effect warleader, the voivode.
All other places on the map, save the Western Desert, are under the yoke of the Empire of Vyzantos…a nation that asks, “What if Byzantium had no redeeming qualities, and worshipped the gods of darkness?”
