Potential/Proposed Halifax LRT/Metro Map – April 9, 2023 at 10:06PM

Hello! I am a former Halifax resident who moved from Halifax to Calgary a few years back. One of the things I noticed which I think Halifax would be perfect for is an LRT system of the likes of the Calgary C-Train.

So just as a bit of fun, I decided to make a proposed/potential map of what a Halifax LRT/Metro map would look like.

Whilst some of the stations and routes would be a bit “ehhhh”, I decided to follow the rail lines for the Red Line and the highway for the Blue Line as they would save a massive amount of money. Doing that saves a massive amount of construction cost as you don’t have to tunnel your way through the city to make the LRT System, and can just glide along already existing infrastructure (main reason why the Calgary C-Train is so large for a city of it’s size)

I would love some feedback on any aspect of the map! If you have any feedback, please send below (can be on simple things or more complex things: routes, names, stations, etc)

Dotted = Underground
Plain = Above Ground
and I have no map scheme for elevated, but I think possibly Infirmary to Kellog Library would be a good spot for an elevated section
