Spatiotemporal map tips? – March 18, 2023 at 04:13PM

Hi all,

I’m a beginner in the GIS world, and I am trying to figure out the best way to make a spatiotemporal map in QGIS. The subject matter is the spread of a prehistoric European culture, and my data consists of dated archaeological sites. I want to visualize how the culture spread from a core area (or areas) where the oldest dates are, to where the youngest dates are. I’ve already figured out that a heat map doesn’t really achieve what I want. Will I need a plugin of some kind?

I am honestly quite lost, so any tips pointing me in the right direction are welcome!
