Adjusting map label positions when using R as GIS – March 12, 2023 at 08:08PM

Has anyone found a good way of moving labels manually when making maps in R (tmap or ggplot)?

I love making maps programmatically, but the one frustrating thing is I want to be able to manually position individual labels “just right” and have that positioning saved for future maps.

Anyone have solutions for this? In a perfect world I would generate the map in an interactive plot, drag the labels around, and somehow assign those new coordinates back to the label locations.
