I am practicing Driving routes, and am trying to print out a section of map on Google Maps.
My end goal is to create a sort of folding Ordnance-Survey-Map, with enough detail that I can see road names.
When I log into GoogleMaps / OpenStreetMaps, the following happens:
When I zoom out, I can get the entire driving route in one frame, and then screenshot… but the resolution is low, and I can’t see the road names on the map.
If I zoom into the map, there is enough detail to see the road names… but the screenshot, is a small section of the entire driving map that I need. So I have to take multiple screenshots. Then I take the screenshots, and ‘stitch’ them together in Microsoft Paint to get a full size map.
This is such a laborious time intensive task. Does anyone have a software/app that can take a ‘mega-screenshot’, or something that stitches automatically multiple frames and then produce a jpeg/png image file? For example, if I drag the map around, can an app ‘compile’ a large image mega-map?
Any help/advice would be so much appreciated. I don’t want to take an Ipad, with Google maps, because I want to make useful notes on the paper map with pen.
