Newbie here! I love stats, graphs and maps but have never created a digital map before but have a particular project which I would like to create a Google-style map that visualizes certain data sets throughout the US on a per capita basis. However, I want the map divided equally by, say, one-mile sections.
The US is about 3.8 million square miles and I’d to be able to have each of those square miles have a certain coordinate that could be downloaded into a spreadsheet, like Excel, where I could then populate these square mile coordinates with data, upload them into the map, and then have the map visualize that data.
What do you recommend? Is there an easy to use Google Maps app that I could do this with? Are there online maps that have the country divided equally into square miles, preferably with square miles coordinates with population for each coordinate? I would like to be able to upload data from a spreadsheet for each of those coordinates into a map.
