Marvel announced a new Star Wars comic crossover series is coming this summer, teasing it with the cryptic line, “First, it comes for the metal.” That is a direct quote from the Star Wars Revelations one shot comic that introduced us to a droid called Ajax Sigma. He will probably be the central figure to the upcoming crossover, so who was he? Ajax Sigma was built on Kligson’s Moon during the High Republic era. He overcame his programming and violently fought for the freedom of all droids, killing thousands until he was struck down by the Jedi Order. His neural core was removed and passed hands for generations. Han Solo just acquired it in the Han Solo and Chewbacca comics, but according to the Revelations issue, he will bury it. It sounds like it will be discovered by droids in between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, allowing a rebuilt Ajax Sigma to wreak havoc on the galaxy.
