Woozers how large is this map?!?!? – February 10, 2023 at 02:43PM

So here I am starting a new Rose wood fire station base. I’ve got 50 hours into the game so far. Ive had a few deep runs but I keep screwing up 14 day start. So I start a new run when I logged on today. I like my settings closer to initial infection (I’m still a noob) because it gives me time to set up a base (not that I’ve made it past 2 weeks lol?

I doubled the amount of time in a day (helped me massively with time management). I spend 4 days setting up rosewood firestation base. Cleared out the grocery store. Installed 2 fridges, organized the garage, got 4 working vechiles of various sizes for different runs. Froze a bunch of meat and stocked my kitchen fully.

I’m ready for WW3. So I decide let’s go to wespoint to get guns. I hear there is a massive gun store and my luck finding guns has yielded me 1 45 in 8 hours of game play (4 days at 2 RL hours per day)

I look at map and think O that’s not too far. Half the map away shouldn’t be long. I’m trying to time it so I don’t miss the free xp show. I load up my medical bags and starter food (normally I scavage on runs) and hit the road.

Mistake #1 I have no clue how the radio works. So in my attempt to lower boredom as I drive I’m trying to google how the radio works. Only to find out the stations randomize every game. FML

Mistake #2 10 minutes into the drive I start to realize I’m going to miss the show if I don’t find a TV asap. I’m looking for a midway point but I’m in the middle of nowhere and this map is huge

Mistake #3 I miss my first free XP show. But I’m finally at the gun store. Let me get those guns and head home. I got 12 hours until the next show.

Mistake #4 OF COURSE THERE ARE BARS I CAN’T BREAK THROUGH. My character is tired and hungry. I’m raging I just spent 3/4 hours driving here. Hitting so many zombies while I was reading about the radio. I look at the wiki and see I need a sledge hammer to break the windows. Shouldn’t be that hard. Ugh O my guy is tired. There should be beds at that tavern its 2 stories?

Mistake #5 nope. The upstairs is a pool room. I’ve been in a lot of podunk middle of nowhere bars and never seen pool tables upstairs. But hey not my town. I start my search for a sledge hammer. I end up with 60 bottles of bourbon that I throw all of them on my passenger seat.

Mistake #6 my character is half asleep. Luckily I have the short sleeper trait. I can hit a bed and be awake before the 6am life and living. I clear 2 houses west of the ammo shop and go to bed at 1:50. I set my digital alarm just in case. I wake up at 5:30 with no alarm and go to the kitchen to make breakfast. 5:50 time to

Mistake #7 THERE IS NO TV IN THIS HOUSE. In my frantic race to find a place to sleep I forgot to make sure there was a tv. I run to the next house. No TV…. I run across the street killing 3 zeds. No TV. I cry. I’m missing my second show on this “quick gun run”

Okay at this point I’m ready to give up. But I’m here so let’s finish it. I go back to google. Hardware store 2 streets down let’s try there. I make my way there killing 20 more zeds. I get there and search. Absolutely no sledge hammer. I’m starting to think I’ve just wasted hours.

I then head for the auto shop.

Mistake #8 my main weapon breaks. And of course I have nothing but bourbon and seeds on me. So I slip my way and grab 2 tire irons with 1 crow bar. I get back in my vechile which is getting low on gas and is taking damage from all the times I’m looking up shit. (I would be dead in this game without google)I see best spot to look is the storage yard.

Mistake #9 storage yard is locked. Every door and ever shed. I turn on the mod that let’s me pry them open and start the very tedious job of opening every locker. While killing 30 more zeds all around the area.

2 RL hours after this trip started and I’ve opened every warehouse door without a single sledgehammer. And the bright side I found a tv and hooked it up on the floor to stop missing the free xp show.

I look up at the clock and I’ve been playing this game for 16 hours and I’m 4 hours past my real bed time. Time to log off in the middle of a storage unit watching TV on the floor. No sledgehammer and no guns.

Gotta love this game. But seriously how big is the map? How many miles end to end?
