3D printable spacers for a 5 player map without hyperlanes – January 10, 2023 at 08:39AM

Hi all!

Preparing for a five player game, and me not being a fan of hyperlanes (always feels like ‘distance’ to me, though I know it isn’t), I decided to make my first 3D design and published it on Thingiverse.

I’m a programmer, so wound up creating the shapes programmatically instead of modelling manually. I used ShapeScript (sorry, mac-only) for this purpose, mostly because the underlying code and libraries are familiar to me.

If there is demand, I can quickly add a variant for a smaller Mecatol placeholder tile which would make for a slightly smaller map and less printed plastic. And I’m aware of the 7 player spacers that were posted here recently also.
