What types of employers and job titles do you seek out for more “pure cartography” and map design careers? – January 9, 2023 at 12:16AM

At my first GIS job, I was making maps for a history textbook. The title was just “GIS research assistant”, so no help there. Now, I’m making and updating infrastructure polygons, and researching the freight activity inside them, as a “data curation fellow”. I’m so sad to leave them when I graduate this summer, because the work suits me so well. I just like making big maps that tell big stories, haha, and the actual drawing part is so enjoyable for me.
