Map of the Cocos Islands – one of Australia’s ten territories and the only one that’s Muslim-majority

Cocos Islands

was administered by the
colony of Singapore until it was transferred to Australia by the
British. The islands were privately owned by the Clunies – Ross family
where they brought in Malay workers where most of today’s residents
descend from, hence the only Australian territory with a Muslim
majority.
