I added a little bit more nations within Wyoming, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Montana. Also the States that aren’t in the HAE are:

Memphis (because nobody accepted them in the HAE, everyone hates Camden and Memphis (fun fact: they’re an anarchy))

Great City of Camden (refused to join since Philadelphia and New Jersey is in the HAE, also they are a non-aligned state)

Kingdom of Bend

Commonwealth of Virginia (which joined the Commonwealth of Nations in 1996)

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (which joined the Commonwealth of Nations in 2009)

Commonwealth of Kentucky (which joined the Commonwealth of Nations in 2033)

Commonwealth of Massachusetts (which joined the Commonwealth of Nations in 1988)

All 4 Commonwealths are close allies with the UK and since the US’s downfall have been closely working together between themselves and the UK. The Kingdom of Maniacs, Vermontese, and Hampshirites allies with Canada, while Minnesota has a soft rivalry towards Canada, while Wisconsin despises both Michigan and Chicagoland (they are allies with Chicagoland on paper but it’s most similar to Israel’s relations with Egypt and Syria).

I will use the Southeastern US and Washington (separately) as an example.

SE US 1986

Since the HAE has only been formed 2177 and temporarily during 2029-2044 (a failed attempt to restore the US) this is the South before the HAE formed.

Louisiana’s main goal was to restore the land they had during the Louisiana Purchase and started to do skirmishes on the border with Arkansas. Arkansas and Mississippi had become increasingly unstable for many reasons, Mississippi and Arkansas are third world countries since they were the poorest state in the union and their current political situation was looking dire too. Shortly after independence Louisiana had declared war on Arkansas and Alabama had already begin invading Mississippi. Alabama had shortly after signed a treaty with Mississippi since they wanted to focus on fighting Florida. The Realms of Carolina have been the best off as they had become increasingly stable and although they had some disputes they have also been looking more foward to unite into one realm. The Carolinan States have later joined a federation in 1991 being the Strongest Southern states even stronger than Georgia and Alabama.

SE US 1992

Florida has been struggling a lot here as well, they were a by product of the US and has a unique history of its own, but one thing is that places like cape coral and many man-made cities have been either abandoned or fully destroyed since they were proven time and again not effective. These cities in our time are eithe prospering in one way or another or have many systems in place to keep them up, Florida as we know today originated from the late 1800s from ambitious businessmen who made settlements for the rich and wealthy but Florida didn’t grew too much in popularity until the 1950s/60s where the wilderness in the everglades begin to fade to host new towns/cities like cape coral for example. Cape Coral now is built well enough were the people can have enough water and they live in cul-de sacs but back then it was just an idea and many of the residents had many droughts even in the rainiest part of the state because of how hard it was to acquire it, the city recommended to drill the water underneath and there still wasn’t enough water, development for the canals didn’t start until the 70s of which made cape coral as we know today. But in this timeline it’s completely different because with the US gone and the businessmen not having the freedom they have previously Florida goes into an economic decline and many of it’s newer cities like ones of these kinds hurt it more.

Not to mention with it’s ongoing war with Alabama they were confident they were gonna complete it in a couple weeks but their military was poorly equipped, poorly planned, and most of their strategies have failed and many of the people in Florida didn’t want to wage war on Alabama. It wasn’t looking good for Florida added onto Georgia planning to invade them as well. Tennessee everyone hates each other, I think we all know how they’ll be as independent states… Funny thing about Western Tennessee is during the fall of the US Memphis wanted to join them but Western Tennessee refused because they didn’t agree with them for a lot of things and it would be a bad look.

Arkansas is fracturing and there is no ruler in the state, it has become an anarchy and has a situation most similar to Yemen. Mississippi’s situation is closest to Somalia, unlike Somali pirates mississippian pirates are a thing too but much more prevalant attacking any coasts they see and extracting stuff from the sea to get the money to the state or themselves.

SE US 1999

The Kingdom of Georgia had declared war on the Flordian Federation in 1998 kicking off the 40 years’ war (which actually lasted 48 years), Alabama had just finished their invasion of Florida and left Florida exhausted and now they have to defend themselves from Georgia which had began to get an economic boom and social boom starting the Georgian golden age where Georgia flourished during this time. Eastern Tennessee in 1997 had requested a union with Georgia and joined which had benefitted them greatly, Atlanta still had some uprisings as they had different goals from the kingdom itself and also wanted a different form of government that’s why it’s still in Orange. The Carolinan Kingdoms made a truce with the Kingdom of Georgia because they were focused on the North.

SE US 2030

Western Tennessee had left their union with Georgia during 2027 since they had become isolationist again, they go back in forth between being an isolationist state and not.

Florida has been become increasingly unstable with making just enough funds for the war effort most of their money comes from Miami, Orlando, and Reno (yes, you heard me right, Reno, Nevada…). One thing I forgot to mention for Florida’s army is that aside from the stuff I’ve mentioned before they are also not properly fed, their situation is closest to Russia (when I say closest I mean the closest I can compare they still have differences, for one Russia isn’t a swamp…).

The Carolinian Kingdoms have become increasingly sour towards each other making the union amongst one another unviable and the collapse of the union was inevitable, each decision any state attempted to make or that of which they recommended, all the othersndeclined and frustration and rivalries started to brew within these states.

Those two lines I have above the arrow in Louisiana means they have part of East Texas which their full territory is shown in the map at the very top.

SE US 2145

This is the current borders of The South Eastern US, Georgia had finished their 40 years war with Florida in 2046, shortly after in 2048 Atlanta had seceded from the Kingdom of Georgia forming the Republic of Atlanta, Georgia despises Atlanta since they’d left and shortly declared war which had lead to Atlanta’s independence, they had been attacked by their bordering states since the states had recognised and signed a treaty with Atlanta.

The Carolinian Kingdoms has dissolved because of the countless disagreements and increasing rivalries between the states and all of them are constantly fighting each other, there is no major power in the region.

Poor mistake on my part but I forgot to draw in Orlando since it became a independent city state from Florida in 2119, my apologies. Orlando is closest to Hong Kong’s situation but it differentiates in several ways, one Florida is economically dependent on Orlando, as important as Hong Kong is China is in a increibly different they have the one country two systems (technically 3 systems but I degress) and they aren’t overly reliant on Hong Kong. Florida depends on Orlando and if they fall, the Floridians see their state fall right after. Also Hong Kong to China anyways isn’t an independent state, regardless of Hong Kong’s circumstance, China sees it as part of it, while Florida although they would like Orlando back as of this time currently they recognise it as an independent state.

Now let’s talk about Washington:

Washington 1986

After Mount St Helens, Washington in our time temporarily got hit with Eastern Washington, especially spokane being hit the hardest. It was the most economically disruptive event in the US back then it costed them 1.1 billion USD (adjusted for inflation, secondly this is 1980 so nowadays for money it’ll definitely be higher). With the US gone now it changes it entirely, Washington has split into many states (btw when I mean state I mean the old-fashioned way of saying it so like nation or nation-state not subdivisions like American states). Washington’s situation looks closest to ancient greece, they’ve split into many city states towards the west and to the east just states. There are 4 main powers in the West, Olympia, Bellingham, Seattle, and Vancouver, Vancouver is a puppet state of the Oregonian Empire whilst Bellingham is a puppet state of Canada. They had declared war on Canada on the 8th of June 1989, they wanted to take Vancouver island and wanted to connect point Roberts. All of the city states in the West except Bellingham had joined to fight the Canadians whilst Bellingham, Everett, Sequim, Forks, and Neah Bay had joined Canada’s side. The fighting was actually very close although the Washingtonians had failed to get a significant amount of land up north, they have been successful at repelling the Canadian divisions in the North and West. The war lasted for 4 years but overall the Washingtonian city-states had failed and the Canadians took the San Juan Islands, and some of the islands close to the coast of Washington (whidbey island, camano island, fidalgo island, etc).

Washington 1994

This is the aftermath of the Invasion, Washington had become even more divided fighting amongst each other, 2 years before the end of the invasion the states had created separate leagues.

Olympia has created the League of the Democratic Realms (of which they were the leader of, the league is coloured in dark green), fighting for democracy and to preserve it.

Seattle made the People’s League which is most similar to maoism (coloured in red, they are the leader of the league), they want to have control all of Washington and parts of Oregon and the Eastern Realms (Eastern Washington).

Bellingham has created the Socialist League (coloured in Yellow), they want to make a united socialist state.

Tacoma has made the Khmer League, they closely follow the ideology of Pol Pot, the most extreme league it’s an autarky (coloured in light bleu)

Pouisbo made the League of the Republics (which is not related to the Republican Party, none of the leagues are closely related to the current american parties, this one is like more based off of Rome and other republics like the Dutch Republic for example, these leagues weren’t fully unified but they were city-states that had agreements that joined in with their partner state’s endeavours, btw it’s coloured in pink)

Mt Vernon has the Nationalist Socialist League (coloured in Brown), which is a fascist league heavily inspired by Hitler’s form of Fascism.

And the Monarchist league lead by Vancouver which is a puppet state of Oregon (coloured in Purple), they want to unite Washington and form one monarchy closely allied by Oregon (to degree of a puppet state).

The War of between the Washingtonian city-states had ended in 1997 and they once again invade Canada for the same reason (but to regain their lost land as well) and failed horribly and repeated again and again until they stopped invading Canada in 2018 where they mainly fought against themselves again until Oregon had invaded them in 2030.

Washington 2035

Washington had become part of the Oregonian Empire, as I coloured it in; They had united under the first time but under Oregon itself the Oregonians had held tight control and didn’t allow any Washingtonians to go pass the Columbia or elsewhere, they attempted to isolate them so they can begin fully assemilating them into the empire. Only Oregonians were allowed to be in Federal positions regardless if it were in subdivisions or statewide (nationwide). Many Washingtonians tried to travel elsewere but were slaughtered and their corpses were shown along the borders and in their home towns as a warning, I can explain more but I just wanted to give a gist. Oregon’s control of Washington was brutal and they held control for 135 years until they granted Washington’s independence, surprisingly although Oregon was determined to keep Washington they peacefully gave them independence because they had focused their forces down South and East to regain their “lost” territory.

As you can tell Washington despises both Canada and the Empire of Oregon.

Washington had joined the HRE shortly after it was created in 2177, they joined in 2181. Oregon had joined in 2188 and Washington had a Revolution which turned them Communist and they left the HRE in 2196. Also the Kingdom of Maryland and Commonwealth of Virginia both want to take Washington DC and incorporate it into their realms of which they attempted to invade Washington but failed to take DC. They did it more often when Washington became Communist as they hated Communist countries. I can explain more about the relations of states or history of other states if you’re curious.
