I’m looking to update the onboard map using the Nissan Connect USB map tool updater from https://apps.nissan.navshop.com/en_us/ for 2022 Nissan Rogue Platinum.
It seems that the tool is not detecting the file that was created in the car. I did the steps described in the page, and it has the AllianceNDSMapConfig.json with the VIN in it. I’ve tried several computers and macs, few usb drives, and even new usb drives (fat32 ddrive). It would say usb stick not ready. screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/pfIhqkA.png
It’s been like this since I bought it new from a dealership. Doing Map Update from inside the car works with wifi, I just got a new update from Oct 20th. Map updater tool doesn’t work.
Googling this thing has come on with others with like problems on a different vehicle (Titan) https://www.titantalk.com/threads/map-update-tool-at-no-cost.430570/
Doing the wifi/hotspot works, but the USB will be much faster. It takes about 20-30min to download the map on a fast connection, and it doesn’t help the system turns itself off after some time. I do have a battery trickle charger connected to the car when doing the wifi to prevent battery drain.
Just looking to see if anyone has experienced this on their car when doing map update.
