I am looking at a 1901 (surveyed 1885) map of in of Lufton, Somerset, the S.E. sheet of LXXXII but I don’t have the “characteristics sheet” that apparently contains all symbols and characteristics, so I am trying to find the meaning of what I marked in red on the picture:
