Confused About Changing Map projection/coordinate system – October 11, 2022 at 04:28PM

In Arcgis if you change the coordinate system/map projection (confused on these terms) of a basemap, should it change the coordinate system of all the feature classes already in it ? If not, how do you do this ?

Or do you need to change the coordinate system of the feature classes before importing them (and how) ?
