Server notes: The Inbetween Lands is fresh, open, and accepting new players. The main continent has been pre-generated to cut down on potential loading times. All changes can be viewed on the discord. a server guide is also in the works to detail what the mods and possible play paths are. Work on the starting village and only semi safe place in the server, Lukmiried, is complete. It now includes an emerald based economy to access newb items like horses, books, food, and cold weather clothing. There’s a player currency available as well for those who like to stack literal pallets of cash and don’t want to waste their emeralds.

Some players have emigrated outside of Lukmiried, many dungeons around the world are untouched and many village totems have yet to be claimed by a faction. The main continent is bristling with hidden wealth. A clan of vampire players has made landfall on a new continent.

I’m new, where should I settle?

You can build outside Lukmiried, this area is the safest we know of. You’ll find houses of other players. The golden rule is to not rob people in this area. You can buy a password protected chest in town.

You start off with a low number of hearts so its important to gain more, do that by eating unique foods, you get 2 hearts for every food milestone (e.g. 5 unique foods for first milestone). Many of the houses/buildings have shops and different crafting stations. The starting village is surrounded by a good variety of food. Generally, optimal strategy for newcomers is to do quests from the bounty board in town, get emeralds, buy a horse and backpack, then secure dwellings somewhere and recruit guards/companions.

The south gets very cold after the temperate zone

there is an artic belt around the south end of the continent.

The north gets very hot after the rainforests

a band of rainforests stretch along what appears to be an equator of the continent, north of that are badlands, deserts, and savannahs

There are many under-developed villages

these villages have totems that can be captured by the three warring factions: Hunters, werewolves, and vampires. Villagers can be recruited to automate resources. Companions can be hired, demons summoned, or minions created. Many players are rushing to build armies with the tamable monsters and hired mobs.

There are other lesser factions that the various magics and mechanics fall under, these can grant affinities, bonuses, and items but not like the major factions (hunters, werewolves, vampires).

What mods are there?

A lot, you won’t recognize them all but that’s part of the fun. There’s a server guide being worked on so everyone knows what they can do but basically your goal to snowball into a high health, high damage, high defense monster with lots of pets/minions/soldiers. Bases can have offline protection if you figure out how to farm nether stars. there is an in-game library you can visit in the starter village. There’s a tech path and a magic path you can explore and mix and match abilities/weapons/spells.

How do I join?

first make sure you’re on version 16.5 and that you have at least 10gb of RAM (there are guides on this I can show you)

then download and install the proper version of forge, 36.2.35, found here https://files.minecraftforge.net/net/minecraftforge/forge/index_1.16.5.html

then download the modpack, extract it, and place that in your mod folder

once your version 1.16.5 of MC has forge and the mods you can connect to inbetweenlands.ddns.net: 25685
