Made using NASA SRTM data, QGis, and Blender 3D (Cycles engine) to render.
I didn’t adjust the height map to increase the size of the Appalachians relative to the Rockies, which I know some like to do.
Created as part of an animation
project that used USA as a backdrop for a timeline of the natural
history of the world, in order to relate the astonishingly narrow slice
of time that humanity occupies within it.
