I’m a regular guy that just got to watching braxmin tech I think it is on YT and am now installing Linux on my laptop and desktop, running duck duck go with Firefox as my browser and other things to keep my tracking down. (I even use fake emails and burner numbers) but I was just wondering since I used Google maps today (yes I’m looking for a maps replacement app) and am still on iOS (yes I’m buying a phone to de Google just have not yet) how does it know where I am if I’ve forgotten to turn back on cellular data? Is it collecting location data without me knowing it? In theory it should have no way of pinging anything to get my location. Especially not to update about time to destination for traffic. (That did change while I was driving) I think I even loaded the app after I got in the car and no longer had wifi.
