I picked up this map of Oki islands in Japan, I am trying to get more information… any advice? – August 3, 2022 at 05:26PM

Hiya,

Not sure if this is the place to post this, but I recently picked up this beautiful map from a thrift store. It was $20 which I feel is an absolute steal (I love maps and this one is particularly cool).

I was hoping to find out some more information about the map, who printed it, why, and if its a collector item. I had a friend translate as much as she could, I have attached her translation if that helps.

From what I already understand:

The original map was printed in 1920, 100 copies.

Two other printings of 100 sold between 1920 – 1955

This map is one of those printed in June 1955

Any information or advice would be most welcome!
