Did you know that Mark Hamill burst a blood vessel in his eye during the filming of the dianoga attack in A New Hope? The injury prevented him from filming any closeups for nearly a month, including many of the shots of Luke in his X-Wing during the Battle of Yavin. Those scenes had to be shot in some of the very last days of principal photography.
