George Lucas said his favorite episode of The Clone Wars is A Sunny Day in the Void, an episode in the D-Squad arc where Meebur Gascon and his droid companions wander around in an endless desert on Abafar. Lucas said he liked it because “It’s THX white limbo in Star Wars land.” The desert of Abafar and some of the themes explored in A Sunny Day in the Void are reminiscent of George Lucas’s first feature film, THX 1138, which features a twenty minute segment of prisoners lost in an endless white void, looking for salvation.
