I truly LOVE the Munchkin Dungeon board game by Steve Jackson Games and Cool Mini or Not! And, like I do with many board games, as soon as I got it in my hands, I thought how nice it would be if I could create extra thingies for it (in this case Monsters). So, here we are!
In this collection you’ll find some regular monsters, and four Bosses. I haven’t decided the level for each one, nor what their card should contain, but I hope I’ll soon figure these out. And I will gladly hear your ideas about the abilities each one should have! Feel free to e-mail me at little_idiot_boy@yahoo.gr with your suggestions.
In the cover photo you see all the figures together, plus the Teddy Bear from the game for size comparison.
Instructions
For many of the monsters, I’m including a full version, and a cut-in-half version, to make supportless printing possible (I use an Ender 3 for printing, and supports are always a problem).
For better results, print all of them with mini settings (I use FDG minis settings). All except the Hair Elemental, that is. See below for details.
Potted Plant (flowerpot) – if you feel confident, try not using supports. It strangely worked for me!
Fungus (mushroom) – I cut it in three parts instead of two. Sorry!
The Mighty Germ (microb) – nothing special here.
Frost Giant (giant) – be careful when removing this from the build plate! The hands are pretty thin.
Minor God (god) – nothing special here.
Alarm Clock (clock) – nothing special here.
Polly Hedron (bird) – be careful when removing this from the build plate! The beak and tail are very thin.
Egg – nothing special here.
Snails on Speed (snails) – if this didn’t print without supports, I would quit 3d printing…
Snot Elemental (snot) – be careful when removing this from the build plate! The feet are very thin.
Monster Truck (truck) – I cut the tail to avoid having to use supports (when I printed mine with the tail attached, the bottom part of the tip was ruined). I’m also including a whole version without a base, since this figure has a rather complex geometry, and the base could cause problems.
The Evil Eye (eye) – be careful when removing this from the build plate! The wings and the little support column are very thin.
Monster the GM Made Up Himself (monster) – be careful when removing this from the build plate! The wings and the foot are very thin.
Bigfoot – nothing special here.
Over Bear – be careful when removing this from the build plate! The arms have a thin connection to the body.
Hair Elemental (hairy) – Better print this with standard settings (I use FDG Terrain Village settings), unless you want to wait for 22 hours! The geometry is very simple, so you won’t lose any details. The base is separate, for better results.
Credits
Of course, all copyrights and legal thingies belong to CMON and Steve Jackson Games. It’s their game, and I just want to add more variety to it…
Now, let’s see:
For the Minor God, the turtle is based on MisterTylerCrook’s Mild Turtle (https://ift.tt/33gMtJD) and the column on creamywhite’s Doric Column Egg Holder (https://ift.tt/2Q7LViJ).
For the Egg, the egg itself is based on Müge Göken’s Egg (https://ift.tt/3hOKggS) and the nest on Jon Robelia’s Nest for Gloomhaven (https://ift.tt/3q794DV).
For the Bigfoot, the foot is based on ahpaolo’s Bookmark Feet (https://ift.tt/2JPwMoB).
For the Hair Elemental, the whole thing is based on Zamukito’s Bush / shrub plant for gloomhaven (https://ift.tt/3q0ywLf).
For the Over Bear, the whole thing is based on Ryan Collins’ Christmas Bear Ornament (Head Tilt) (https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/christmas-bear-ornament-head-tilt).
For the Monster Truck, the horns are based on JJJEXEEE’s Viking with a Club (https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/viking-with-a-club).
I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone!
Happy Printing!
