My project explanation:
My design, to quickly some it up is a supplies organizer with many helpful features. It is made up of five different areas, a red side, that has two drawers and a flat tray on the top to place things, a yellow side, with three different sized rectangular containers for pens and other items of your choice. A green side, with hooks to hang items and poles to hold ring shaped items, such as tape rolls, and a blue side, where there is a place to hold note cards to practice or your phone to check your online assignments, there is also space behind the phone stand where you can store more items. Then, the middle part is white and is made up of a cylinder container and a squared tray underneath, this is not only another storage container but with the hole in the bottom of the cylinder it can also be a pot of a plant, and the tray underneath it would catch the excess water and protect the surrounding area from having any water damage. The final feature of my project is the bottom where I try to design a simple way to show that the whole thing could turn and rotate in a circle like a “Lazy Susan”.
What issues did you come up against?
While I was making my project the main issues or places I had difficulty with was the sizing of each individual piece or the whole thing and getting every piece in the right place.
If you could redesign this again what would you change?
If I were to redesign my project the main change I’d make would probably be to simplify it even more so it can be made smaller to fit in tighter areas such as school desks or locker.
How would 3D printing help strengthen your design?
Finally I believe that 3D design is a helpful tool for student because especially when we a doing virtual learning it provides students with a way to build a create items to solve problems or just make there own unique ideas a reality, and if my project were to be 3D printed then it could provide a way for everyone to organize their school supplies neatly while at home and even if there is no school my project can be used to hold other items and still keep things organized in ones work space.
