The limited series showed Bob Reynolds, a married alcoholic with possible psychotic delusions, and his superheroic alter ego, Sentry, as a Superman-style hero in physical strength and all other skills plus his own. He was a socially accepted hero, in contrast to most of the Marvel heroes. He had relationships with the Fantastic Four, the Hulk, Spider-Man, the X-Men, etc.
His existence was erased by an unknown figure who tried to hide Sentry’s identity even from himself. His partner, Billy Turner, the Explorer, was also affected by this memory deletion.
It was revealed that Sentry and his archenemy, The Void, needed each other to exist, and that the more powerful one became, the more powerful the other. Sentry remembered that it was he who erased the memory of everyone, including himself, thus defeating the Void.
By the end of the limited series, it looked like Sentry had disappeared again.
