We are currently printing and deploying this face shield across South Africa to frontline EMS, hospitals, doctors, nurses and medical professionals fighting against COVID-19.
The shield is community designed, by a team of eight designers and engineers from 3DPSA, the brief was to negate any additional steps and provide an easy to assemble and easy to deploy shield.
The frame consists of the 3D printed frame and utilises a friction fit slot to hold an A4 transparency in place and is then secured to your head with a simple rubber band.
Aside from the functional requirements, this was designed to be easy and fast to print on any standard 3d printer, use as little as possible material and still be stackable.
