At home, I have a selection of bird feeders. One of which is a metal one for the “Energy balls for birds”, or as I sometimes refer to them, “Fat Balls for the Great Tits”. This is very popular with the local avian wildlife but does on its own make quite a mess.
So I thought I would do something useful with my 3D printers and make a tray for it. This is the result.
The inner diameter is 100mm, which makes scaling it easier if you have a different sized ring you need it to fit onto.
It might take a bit of encouragement to fit on your feeder, but it’s unlikely to come off.
A few months ago I had a crow knock the feeder from the line it was on, and it survived a 2m drop to the concrete below (although the feeder bent a bit!).
