I bought the Creator Pro earlier this year, as a 5th printer, but the first dual-extruder model as my requirements have expanded.
Originally I’d intended to get the Wanhao 4S, but this was just when Amazon stopped shipping large items due to the coronavirus, so I got the Flashforge directly from their website instead.
I later discovered they both use the Sailfish firmware, so they are basically the same thing!
All of my printers have glass beds, for a shiny base and easy removal (using window cleaner!). For this to be the same, I purchased a 4mm borosilicate glass plate and then needed some way to mount it.
The options for mountings I found on Thingiverse didn’t quite fit for me, so I designed some in Fusion 360, going through a few iterations to get them how I wanted.
These corner brackets have slots for them to be fitted using the existing nuts & bolts.
Fit them on using those nuts with suitable washers so you don’t squish the plastic.
They also have cutouts for the print head to do its priming/wiping thing before it starts printing (from the Creator Pro Cura profile I found and have been using).
There are lips on the ‘top’ edge of the brackets to fit glass plates that have had their edges chamfers to 45 degrees. This also helps keep the plate where it’s supposed to be.
Best printed oriented (vertically) with one of the ‘thick’ edges on the build plate to keep the edges that will be against the glass plate nice and sharp.
More stuff that I’ve created and write-ups of commissions etc can be found on my blog:
