I had to make a front mounted control box to accommodate everything I have and finally got around to finishing and printing it after getting a volcano nozzle. The box has spots for the ezabl pro box, raspberry pi 4, and SKR 1.3 board. There is a spot in to place a 40 x 20 mm fan.
I scrapped any fan mount for the fan that came with the pi after getting the control box covered up. I’ll monitor the heat sinks on the pi to see if a fan is necessary but that 40mm fan puts out some nice airflow.
Print 4 feet to raise the ender 3 up high enough to get the box to fit properly.
The only issue I ran into is the usb ports would require to box to be even deeper to have access to all 4 of them. I decided to stay as is since I only have the pi hooked up to the printer and my pi has wifi built in so I haven’t checked clearance for the ethernet port.
I don’t want to post pictures of my print since I jumped the gun and printed an older model I had created that would mount a 40 mm fan but it was in a bad position. Not to mention the work I had to put into shaving off the ports to allow proper connection with the usb connectors.
I may update in the future to include a power supply holder since I removed it from the printer when I installed my linear rails.
