Hi all,
I created this design because I only have a small Ender 3 printer and I could only print one shield at a time. It was just not feasible to come back every hour to the printer to clean it and re-start it.
-The screen is based on a A4 PVC transparent sheet with A6 size holes on the longer side.
-The headband part is composed of 4 separate components that can be printed separately.
-Bottom Right
-Bottom Left
-Top Right
-Top Left
The assembly of the headband is very simple, I use a plier to fit (snap) the parts together. There is no need for glue or solvent, and it is very robust. Other part of the shield will break before the assembly comes off, I’ve tried!
Regarding the printing, I print in the simple Fast mode in creality, I have a 0.4mm nozzle.
In order to fill the printer table, I do:
-4 Tops together (4 x Top Right and 4 x Top Left)
-7 Bottoms and 1 top together (7 x Bottom Right + 7 x Bottom Left + 1 Top Right and 1 Top Left)
Both prints take about 5 hours. This enables me to do the deliveries while the printer runs or to launch it during the night.
I am registered on Covid3D.com for the requests and I have been able to deliver 10 shields to chiropodists and 3 to a speech therapist so far. They are very happy with the design and asking me to print more for them.
Share some pics if you do make it. Let me know if you have any question.
Enjoy!
