I designed this strap with fast batch printing in mind at 0.8 mm height which means 4 layers at 0.2 mm.
There are two versions, one has one side of the strap that holds the band firmly, so it’s easier to adjust the other side. Each version also available in 1 mm height instead of 0.8 if you’d prefer that one (longer print).
I recommend printing the “Try this one first” single 0.8 mm height sample version, which has one side of strap that is non adjustable, the other is adjustable.
There is a multi piece stl available for batch printing, one for 200×200 and one for 300×300 print surface area, both are versions of previously mentioned “Try this one first” version of the strap with avoiding bed clips in mind if your machine is properly centered.
Test print in PLA is durable at 0.8 mm height, seems to work ok, but I haven’t tried it, so feedback welcome so that I can make adjustments if needed.
Perfect leveling required on glass at 50°C or print on rough surface or use something for the prints to stick better if you can’t avoid it. Watch the edges, they tend to lift mid print if printer isn’t set up well. I’d normally recommend brim but that would mean a lot of post processing. Also wouldn’t recommend printing faster than 60 mm/s or at least I recommend slower first layer for better adhesion.
Intended for indoor usage at room temperature, not outside in direct sun light, thin PLA might soften, I’d recommend printing thicker version with materials like PETG or HTPRO PLA (can withstand temps around 100°C), but materials like those are harder to print because of warping.
This is a work in progress, things might change, not thoroughly tested so print at your own risk, I’m not responsible for any damage in the process of printing or usage of the model.
Hope this speeds up printing and brings some comfort to those on the front lines and that it’s as good as it was intended to be. Stay safe and thank you!
